Activity Record app privacy policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
This policy covers the Activity Record app for iPhone, iPad, and Android, made by Everyday Insight LLC. Here, “we” means Everyday Insight LLC. The myactivityrecord.com website has its own privacy policy at myactivityrecord.com/privacy.
The short version
Activity Record has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. What you write stays on your device, or in your own iCloud or Google Drive if you turn on sync. We never receive it, and we can’t read it.
What you write
Everything you create in Activity Record, including your logged hours, activities, notes, and ratings, is stored on your device. It’s protected by your device’s own security, like its passcode and built-in encryption. The app doesn’t add encryption of its own.
The insights and observations the app shows, including how it groups similar activities, are worked out on your device. Nothing from them is sent anywhere.
Sync, if you turn it on
Sync is off unless you turn it on in Settings.
iCloud on iPhone and iPad. Your logged hours, activities, notes, and ratings are stored in your own iCloud account so they appear on your other Apple devices. They move between your devices and Apple under your Apple Account, and Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to that storage. We can’t see it.
Google Drive on Android. The app asks Google for permission to use one hidden folder in your Drive, called the app data folder. It can’t see your other files or your contacts. Google also tells the app the email address of the account you connect, which the app keeps on your device only to show you which account is connected. Your data is stored in that folder under your Google Account, and Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to it. We can’t see it.
Activity Record’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Device backups
If you back up your iPhone or iPad to iCloud or to a computer, that backup can include the app’s data, the same as for other apps. On Android, the app’s data is left out of your device backups unless you turn on “Back up to your Google account” in the app’s Settings.
What you choose to share
Apart from sync or a backup you turn on, your data leaves the app only when you export or share it. You can make a PDF of the days you choose, a spreadsheet file, or a backup file that you can restore from later. Where a file goes after that is up to you and the app you send it to. Backup and spreadsheet files aren’t encrypted, so keep them somewhere private.
Reminders
You can set reminders for the hours you choose. They’re scheduled on your device, use general wording, and never show what you wrote.
App lock
If you turn on the app lock, the app asks your device to confirm it’s you. On iPhone and iPad that’s Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, and on Android it’s your fingerprint, face, or screen lock. Your device does the check, and the app never receives your biometric data. On iPhone and iPad, the app lock works only if your device has a passcode set. On Android, while the app is locked, its screens are hidden from the recent apps view and can’t be captured in screenshots.
Widget and shortcuts
The widget shows how many hours you’ve logged today. It never shows a feeling or anything you wrote. Log This Hour in Siri and the Shortcuts app, and the shortcut on the Android app icon, only open the app to the right screen. They don’t read or send what you wrote.
Permissions
The app asks for permission to send notifications only when you turn on a reminder, and to use Face ID or your fingerprint only when you turn on the app lock. On Android, it asks to use your Google account only when you turn on sync. On Android, you can also allow exact alarms so reminders arrive on time. You can change these at any time in your device’s settings.
What the app never does
The app has no ads, analytics, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind. It doesn’t use your location, contacts, camera, photos, or microphone, and it doesn’t connect to Apple Health or Health Connect. The app connects to the internet only when you turn on sync, and then only to Apple’s iCloud on iPhone and iPad or to Google’s sign-in and Drive services on Android.
Links to other websites
Links in the app, like the ones to our website, open in your browser, where that website’s own privacy policy applies. The app doesn’t keep track of which links you open.
Email you send us
If you write to hello@myactivityrecord.com, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, your message, and any attachments. We use them to reply and to help with what you asked. Please don’t send us details about your health or a crisis. We can’t provide care, and we don’t monitor email for emergencies.
Selling and sharing
We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. The app doesn’t send us anything, so there is nothing from the app for us to sell or share.
Children
Activity Record isn’t meant for children under 13. If you’re under 18, use it with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian. The app sends us nothing, so we don’t collect information from children through it. If a child under 13 emails us, we’ll delete the message once we learn of it.
Your choices
- Delete any entry in the app.
- Delete everything from Settings. If sync is on, this also removes the synced copy.
- Turn sync off in Settings. What’s on your device stays there, and so does the copy already in the cloud until you remove it.
- To remove the iCloud copy, open your device’s Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, and manage the storage for the app.
- On Android, turning sync off also removes the app’s access to your Google Drive. To remove the copy already there, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, then Manage apps, find the app, and choose Delete hidden app data.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your device. On Android, if you turned on “Back up to your Google account,” Google keeps that backup under your account and may restore it if you reinstall the app. You can manage it in your Google account’s backup settings.
We don’t hold any of your app data, so there’s none for us to send you, correct, or delete. We keep email only as long as we need it to help you or to meet a legal obligation, and our email provider processes it for us. You can ask us to delete your messages, or ask anything else about your privacy, at hello@myactivityrecord.com.
Not health care
Everyday Insight’s tools are for education and personal reflection. They are not therapy or medical care, and they are not for emergencies.
Security
We build the app so your data stays on your device and in accounts you control. No method of storage is completely secure, so keep your device protected with a passcode and keep it up to date.
People outside the United States
Everyday Insight LLC is based in the United States. If you use the app or email us from another country, any information we receive, like an email, may be processed in the United States or wherever our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version at myactivityrecord.com/app/privacy with a new effective date. If the change is important, we’ll also let you know in the app. This policy is also available in Spanish. If the two versions differ, the English version controls.
